Magical Artifacts
Magical artifacts are an ubiquitous myth across Oderen, filling the mythology and folklore of every mortal race. They are remnants of a time long past, when magic was far more widespread than it is today. Some are ascribed to the gods, while others belonged to great heroes or tyrants in ancient days. Most have been lost to time, tumbling beyond memory. Others have endured, wielded by kings and clerics as much as a badge of honour as for any practical reasons. Only truly notable figures can claim to own these items, highly sought after as they are. Modern magicians can enchant items in a similar way, though they struggle to capture even a fragment of the power these artifacts possess. Perhaps the greatest collection of these magical items is in the College of Caulois, where they are catalogued and studied by the magicians there.
